Social Good Lab is a purpose-driven, development-sector-focused platform of Ideation Hub Africa because we believe that Africa’s economic development relies significantly on its social prosperity.

Our drive is to equip – social entrepreneurs, non-profit/ NGO professionals, CSR practitioners, development actors and government stakeholders – to deliver innovatively on their social purpose; through tailored learning, collaborative engagement, research and social enterprise advice.

We are building a one-stop rallying point for key players across Africa’s development landscape to learn, grow, connect and leverage knowledge for strengthening their organizations, scaling their impact, understanding the communities better and building sustainable models.

Through SGL, we run:

  1. Social Good School
  2. The Development Dialogue
  3. ED’s Forum
  4. Policy Research Projects
  5. Social Enterprise Effectiveness Diagnostics
  6. The Mentorship Immersion
  7. Social Innovators’ Showcase
  8. Development Careers in Nigeria

The Social Good School delivers executive education and tailored learning to social entrepreneurs, non-profit/ NGO professionals, CSR practitioners, development actors and government stakeholders, to prepare them for:

  • understanding the social landscape and Africa’s development challenges
  • addressing social problems and global issues innovatively
  • building sustainable social enterprises (whether full non-profits, hybrids or for-profits with a social purpose)
  • creating virile collaborations for creating and sustaining change
  • identifying and engaging key stakeholders for development including the government
  • raising social capital, funding and support
  • spurring corporate organizations as active participants of the social innovation process through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

SGS is promoting education and sector-specific knowledge as vital tools for enhancing the capacity of all social actors to truly improve communities and lives, as the next most significant development engine after the government.

Some of our Training Programmes include:

  • The Accelerator Program for Development Actors
  • Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Leadership, Sustainability and Social Change Program

We also run:

  • Two-hours labs on diverse topics of interest for key players in the development landscape
The Social Good Lab creates a unique collaborative space for leaders of non-profits, particularly Executive Directors of NGOs and Social Enterprises, to engage and share ideas that grow the collective capacity, social prosperity and organizational productivity within the social profit space.

The Forum will inspire significant exchange of ideas amongst NGO owners and social entrepreneurs as well as grow a collective capital for creating change, driving policies, engaging the government and building better teams in the social sector.

The Development Dialogue Africa is a melting point of thought leadership, innovation-conversations, policy discussions and collaboration for Africa’s social development.

A high-impact gathering for leaders, key players and change agents; the bi-annual conference brings together social innovators, non-profit professionals, development actors, CSR practitioners, the government and other stakeholders as catalysts for social and economic prosperity!

The Dialogue with keynote speeches, short seminars, exhibitions, the Social Innovators Showcase and networking opportunities will raise global development issues, contextualize discussions for addressing social problems, promote platforms for stronger collaboration and incubate leaders of change for Africa.

We also seek to provide players in the development sector and the government with useful evidence-based intelligence and research-aided resources that can further enhance the work of those promoting social good.

Surveys, focus group sessions, private interviews and other research efforts are at the heart of our work across Education, Healthcare, Arts and Media, Governance and Public Service, Financial Inclusion, Technology, CSR etc.

Our work further involves providing organisational effectiveness diagnostics for non-profits and social enterprises as well as business consulting services in human capital development, performance management, operations, fundraising, volunteer management etc.

We believe this solution will help grow sustainable enterprises with the right systems, processes, strategy and people for achieving success.

Ideation Hub Africa commits to awarding and showcasing Africa’s most inspiring social innovators and entrepreneurs who promote social good.
This is our initiative offering professional counseling and advice to students in higher institutions who decide to build a career in the development sector as well as professionals seeking to make a career change.

We are also the host of Nigeria’s first Social Sector Career Fair providing job, volunteering and internship opportunities, resources as well as networking to practitioners in the space.
